Video Game Console of the 2000's
These are some of the many consoles of the 2000's. From left to right these are the consoles released in order (PlayStation 2, XBOX 360, PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo Wii). The other consoles released but not pictured are the Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube, and the Original XBOX. I did not picture these because they did't have a huge impact on gaming. The Dreamcast was Sega's last home console and it was one of the most underrated consoles of all time. The Gamecube was Nintendo's first disc based console but it didn't do much for the company. The original XBOX was Microsoft's first console. The PS2 was Sony's second console and it is the best selling video game console to date with over 155 million consoles sold. It was extremely popular because it came packed with a DVD player built inside. The XBOX 360 was Microsoft's best video game console to date for now. It was popular and it revolutionized online gaming and made it better. The PS3 was PlayStation's third console and it was a technical powerhouse. It used Blu-Ray discs which meant more space and better graphics. It also introduced PSN which is an online service that is still used today. The Nintendo Wii was made after the Gamecube and it was the first console to have motion controls. These motion controls made the Wii extremely popular as it can be played by anyone.
