Video Game Console of the 1980's
These are some of the many consoles of the 1980's. From left to right these are the consoles released in order (ColecoVision, Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Master System, and the Atari 7800). During the early 80's the ColecoVision with other consoles caused the Video Game Crash of 1983. Video games were dead at this point until the NES came out and brought video games back into life. The NES was Nintendo's first console and it proved to be very important in video games. The most famous game on the system was Super Mario Bros. During the 80's we also saw the introduction of Sega's first U.S. console the Master System. This wasn't too popular but it started the great console war between Sega and Nintendo. We also saw the release of Atari's third console the Atari 7800. It wasn't extremely popular and it was one of Atari's last great consoles.
